How does this service work?

First, we arrange a meeting where I will learn about your food preferences and dietary needs. Then, custom designed menus are created and presented for your approval.  We set a date to cook and I do the grocery shopping, with meal preparation in your home. Your dinners are packaged, labeled and left in the refrigerator or freezer with instructions on how to heat. I leave your kitchen spotless and your home is filled with the aromas of home cooking.

Who does the grocery shopping?

On your scheduled cooking day, I will shop for the groceries needed for the meals on your menu. We will purchase all of the items needed and the cost of these groceries are incorporated into the charge for the service.

What if I have special dietary needs?

I have the ability to cook not only to your tastes, but also according to your dietary requirements. I offer customized menus including fresh and seasonal produce and the most nutrient-dense foods. I have a diverse background in a variety of cooking styles; healthy cooked meals, vegetarian, vegan and raw foods.

Are the vegetables, herbs and seasonings fresh?

On your scheduled cooking day, I will select the freshest vegetables available for your meals. If at all possible, I will use produce that was harvested that day. The herbs used in your meals are fresh and harvested that day if possible. If the herb is not in season, I will purchase dried herbs and crush them when I use them. I grind the seasonings fresh each day and only as much as I need. These practices prevent the flavorful oils from evaporating while the herbs and spices sit on a shelf waiting for use.

How often will I need your services?

Some families need weekly service while others prefer every other week or even every three weeks. It depends on your unique needs. This is a flexible service. After the first service, we can discuss what works for you.

Where is the cooking done and what equipment do I need to have for the chef?

Meals are prepared in your kitchen. I bring all the tools and equipment necessary, all you need to have is a working stove, oven and refrigerator/freezer.

How long will you be in my kitchen?

That depends on how many meals, and the menu you have selected. Typically, the Service takes about 5-6 hours from start to finish.

Do I have to be home when you come to cook?

No, you do not have to be home on your scheduled cook date as long as appropriate arrangements are made in advance for me to gain access to your home.

How is the food packaged?

A variety of containers are used depending on the food and client preferences. We discuss this at the consultation.  Meals can be packaged as single servings or family sized. Other packaging options are available if you choose to invest in reusable containers.

How do I get started?

Please contact the Chef to schedule a complimentary in-home consultation. The Chef will sit with you to complete a comprehensive questionnaire detailing your dining preferences, dietary needs and lifestyle requirements.  We set a date to cook, I design the menu for you to approve – and we are ready to go.
